Jenny Leary

Jenny is an artist/researcher currently based in Los Angeles, California. Ferrofabric is her textile design practice that is based on researching properties of magnetic fields. It is an ongoing experiment to demonstrate how textiles can cross over into territories such as material science, performance art, science fiction, alternative craft, and magic shows. Her approach synthesizes materials science and textile design. She is particularly interested in how magnetism can challenge boundaries. Since completing an MA in Design for Textile Futures at London's Central Saint Martins, her work has been exhibited internationally, including shows in Beijing, New York, Milan, and Ireland. Ferrofabric clients include fashion designers such as Claudia Ligari and forward-thinking businesses such as Coolhaus. Jenny also enjoys writing about innovative materials and boundary-pushing designers on the Puff&Flock blog. She studied painting from Cornell University and continues to draw and paint.
